Opportunity to Take Part in a Research Trial

Further information about research trial:

The HDA have been approached by a healthcare research company called Ipsos, who are undertaking research on behalf of a pharmaceutical company called Teva.
The purpose of the research is to get a better understanding of how HD impacts on someone with HD and to get a better understanding of the cognitive aspect of the illness.
They are looking for 3 participants who have mild (symptomatic but largely self sufficient) to moderate (need help with most daily tasks) stage HD and are aged between 30 and 50. They are willing to consider participants from across England and Wales.
The process will involve a call from the HDA to fill in an assessment questionnaire, which covers how HD affects each aspect of daily living. Following this you will be asked to sign a pre-recruitment consent form which will be passed to Ipsos to say that they may contact you. Ipsos will decide who is recruited to the trial. You will then have an initial call from the researcher, and if you are recruited to the trial this will be followed by 2 visits lasting 4 to 5 hours in which the researcher will follow you about your daily routine and video it. There will be an additional visit which will last 2 hours 3-6 weeks later.
They are looking for participants in and around the London area (within 3 hours travel). They will pay £550 for those who are accepted and complete the trail. If you would be interested in participating in this trial and fit the criteria please contact ruth.abuzaid@hda.org.uk
